Kenya Safari Information

 
   
     
 

GENERAL INFORMATION

Departures/Dates;
safaris for both Lodges and private mobile camping depart on a daily basis with a minimum of two persons or one subject to a supplement.

Visas
Visas are required for entry into Kenya and these are readily available at diplomatic missions and at entry points into Kenya. These are issued either at the airport or at border points .

Climate
The climate in Kenya is characterised by warm days and chilly early mornings while evenings are cool.

Clothing
We do recommend, light clothing for the day on safari with options of either Khaki or cotton slacks. However, mornings and evenings tend to get chilly and so, warm clothings are advised. A san hat or cap should also be considerd as well for protection against the African .

Health/Vaccinations
(A)-precautionary anti-malaria prophylactics is a must especially if travelling out of Africa. Medical facilities and first aid services are available throughout the country.

(B)-You are required to have a Certificate of inoculation against Yellow fever and Cholera especially is coming from countries endemic regions.

Security
We prefer you avoid moving around urban centres if not escorted by your representative. This applies to movement in Nairobi and other towns.

We do advise our guests to purchase a comprehensive package of Travel Insurance from their countries of origin.

Electricity.
The Electricity supply in Kenya is 220/240 volts 50HZ and sockets are mostly, three pin square . please ensure that equipment such as cam corder, cellular phones, battery chargers are compatible with the voltage. You may also consider bringing an adaptor.

Optional Activities  while on safari or in Nairobi

Balloon Safaris.IN MASAI MARA
Balloon Safaris are mostly optional and should there be any need for this, we can book these for an extra fee.

Maasai
Cultural safaris to the Masai tribes and Samburu Villages exposes a different kind of lyfestyle of these Great People of Africa. These trips costs are usually negotiable on site.

Departures/Dates;
Lodge safaris will depart on any given day based on a minimum number of people and availability of accommodations.


Cars,
Safari Vehicles are based on 7 seater guaranteed window seats. Mostly with custom built safari minibuses in Kenya and Toyota Landcruisers and Land Rovers in Tanzania. These safari vehicles come with High Frequency Radio communication,game viewing pop up top, for easy game and bird watching, padded front facing seats, driven by experienced safari guides.

Optional Activities in Nairobi.
The Carnivore Game Meat is one of the highlights for visitors in Kenya.

The Nairobi tour should include a visit to the National Museum, Giraffe Centre, Snake park, Karen Blixen Museum and the Bomas of Kenya.

We advise taking a Flying Doctors emergency evacuation policy at a minimal fee.
