GORILLA TRACKING SAFARI RULES


On the way to the gorillas;


1) A maximum of 8 visitors is allowed to visit a gorilla group in a day. This is to minimize the behavioral disturbances of the gorillas and the risk of exposure to human-borne diseases.

2) You are advised to keep your voices as low as possible as you move in the forest on the
gorilla trek.

3) Do not litter in the forest.

4) You are advised to follow the guides and the trackers who will lead you on the gorilla trail.

5) On approaching the gorillas, the guides will let you know when to get your cameras ready.

6) Always wash your hands before heading out to trek the gorillas



When with the gorillas;



1) Keep a minimum of 5 metres(15feet) from the gorillas. The baby gorillas have a tendency of getting as close or even touching and clinging on to the visitors. In this case, please move back as slowly as possible.

2) Please stay in a tight group as the opposite could easily lead to dividing the gorilla group you are visiting which could lead into a charge by the Silverback.

3) Keep you voices as low as possible and feel free to ask your guide for any other information you may require on the trek.

4) Do NOT eat or drink in the vicinity of the gorillas as this might affect their natural feeding habits. Secondly the droplets off this food could tempt the gorillas try this food which could spread disease to them..
